The Monsal Trail is a traffic free route for walkers, cyclists, horse riders and wheelchair users through some of the Peak District's most spectacular limestone dales. The trail runs along the former Midland Railway line for 8.5 miles between Blackwell Mill, in Chee Dale and Coombs Road, at Bakewell.

Getting to the Monsal Head and Wyedale Circular Walk Trailhead. To reach the car park for the Monsal Head and Wydale Circular from Bakewell, drive northwest on Buxton Road/A6 for 2.3 km and turn right onto A6020. After 0.2 km, turn left onto Betty Lane and follow it for 110 m before turning right onto Greaves Lane.
