The construction of a fifth terminal at London Heathrow is critical to the airport's continuing position as the busiest in Europe. The site covers some 250 hectares and has a projected capacity of 30 million passengers annually. The terminal includes an automated baggage handling system, retail facilities, large lounges and 18 aircraft stands.
