Louisa Starr, later Louisa Canziani (1845 - 25 May 1909) was a British painter. [1] Biography Starr was born in London and lived on Russell Square when she became a copyist at the British Museum. [2] Studying at the Royal Academy, she showed her first work there in 1866 and by 1876 had showed 17 paintings. [2]

Biography Painter, decorator, illustrator and folklorist. Born in London, daughter of Louisa Starr Canziani (q.v.1845-1909) and Enrico Canziani (1848-1931), an Italian civil engineer. Studied at 'Copernicus', Arthur Cope and Erskine Nichol's school in Kensington and at Royal Academy Schools.

Studying at the Royal Academy, she showed her first work there in 1866 and by 1876 had showed 17 paintings. She won a gold medal at the Royal Academy for history painting in 1867.
