Medway UB122 Submarine Wreck Beyond the Point
The sub is, believed to be the UB-122, one of the roughly 100 German submarines turned over to Britain at the end of the war. Medway UB-122 Submarine Wreck. SM UB-122 was a World War One German submarine, or U-Boat, in the German Imperial Navy which was first commissioned in March 1918 after a year of construction. The 183ft warship was armed with 10 torpedoes and a 3.46 inch deck gun which would have been operated by the 31 men and 3 officers onboard.

April 4, 2016 Heritage The remains of the only visible WW1 German U-Boat wreck in the UK Located in the Medway are the rusting remains of a WW1 German U-Boat, UB-122. The U-Boat was confiscated at the end of the Great War and was taken up the River Medway along with 25 other U-Boats to be scrapped on the Kent Coast in 1921.

A First World War U-Boat in the Medway (II) type. They are referred to as 'coastal attack' U-boats, distinguishing them from minelaying U-boats of the UC types and the ocean-going types. The UB III type was introduced in summer 1917 and was the most numerous class of U-boat - a total of 89 were built (though not all before the end of the war).
