By Sumit Singh Published Mar 31, 2020 Over the weekend, KLM performed its final commercial flight with a Boeing 747 aircraft. After 49 years of flying the skies, the company ended passenger operations with the jumbo following a flight from Mexico City.

The first KNLM flight took place on 17 May 1920. KNLM's first pilot, Jerry Shaw, flew from Croydon Airport, London, to Amsterdam. [12] The flight was flown using a leased Aircraft Transport and Travel de Havilland DH-16, [12] registration G-EALU, which was carrying two British journalists and some newspapers.

The Flying Dutchman is the name of the latest attraction at the Madurodam miniature park. Consisting of a fully restored Douglas DC-3, the full-sized aircraft (18 metres long and 30 metres wide) will offer visitors a "flight experience" and pays tribute to the pioneering spirit of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, which has just celebrated its 100th ann.

KLM's email indicates that I will receive a refund of the fare difference after my flight - what does this actually mean in cash terms given that I booked the PE seat several weeks/months ago, do they mean the historical pricing difference at boolkng date or today's pricing difference (which may be less but could be more?).
