BEYERDYNAMIC WS 101 MOUSSE pour micro M101/201/422/MCE84/93/94
Beyerdynamic microphones. I recently did some projects where I used a lot of my Beyerdynamic microphones, M69/M101/M500. and holy moly these are not even the praised M88/M201/M160 but I like them. I like them a lot. The low end is big yet defined & the top end is very pleasing also clear & defined without being sharp or harsh.

It came up with just 19 options when I tried it, several of which are minor model variations. For instrumental and drum miking applications, I'd suggest the Beyerdynamic M101 or Sennheiser MD211, but the Electrovoice RE50 or 635, Microtech Gefell MD120 and AKG D230 are also good all-rounders.

The M201 shines on many applications, even on hi hat, ride cymbal and OH, so I guess the M101 is just as good, but without the proximity and other disadvantages of a cardioid. Which is why I've been looking to add a couple of M101s to the hoard. Gives me a choice of mics to use for overheads, and another sound for percussion, acoustic.
