1. Re: el senador cayo coco 18 years ago Save Hi, just got back from the El Senador yesterday and I had a great time! No bugs whatsoever, food was much better than I expected, and the beach is fabulous. I had a large room, very clean and the maid made sure I always had clean towels & a bottle of water.

11. Re: El Senador - Cayo Coco 18 years ago Save There were mostly couples and families that we saw. The Tryp resort down the beach seemed to be the best place for singles and great for party life. The El senador was quiet on our side but they said the other side of the resort was more active.

Don't quote me on that but at the very least, I know that it is available. While there, you GOTTA meet Freddy the bartender on the Emperador side.

El Senador is the original name of a luxury 4-star resort located in Cayo Coco, Cuba. It was owned as a joint venture between Cubanacan, a Cuban tourism company, and a syndicate of Canadian businesses. In December 2005 the Canadians sold their interest to an Anglo-Dutch syndicate, and the owners engaged the Spanish group NH Hotels as operator.
